Dying Plants

It appears that some of my plants are dying. First I have Banana Tree. This plant marmot bought on sale and have been able to limp it along for about a year. It did "okayish" until I repotted it, I think now it has too much room for its roots, maybeeee. But it leaves turn brown and its trunk is getting smaller, probably not a good sign. I figure it might just last another week or two or two years who knows. Maybe marmot just needs to water it more often. The other plant I don't even know what it is. Marmot is calling it a annual, becuase anything that dies this time of year can be refered to as such. It is an easy out.
